About Us
I am actively involved in a number of Longford community groups and have been volunteering for different local projects and events. I am a wife, mother, art graduate, and a working artist. I am a strong advocate for equality, diversity, human rights, disability rights, and women’s rights. As a community leader, I am part of a local women’s group, chairperson of the local community group, and president of a human rights organisation. I am also a member of the local musical society and am currently working on various community-related projects. I have a keen interest in community development, especially the development of Longford town. I understand and acknowledge the issues faced by the community, and I intend and will try to do my best to seek resolutions to these issues. I like to promote peace, positivity, and harmony, and I try to express it through my art and my involvement in various voluntary sector activities. I strongly believe in mutual respect, empowering communities, diversity, and inclusion.

Employment Opportunities
It was great to attend the launch of two amazing research reports by Longford Women’s Link
“The Power of Community Education: Supporting lone parents to fulfil their potential in education, employment and society.”
“Economic and Social Realities of Migrant Women”.
It was great to be part of the research project giving my input, as it is not only acknowledgement of the issues women in rural areas are facing but how the community education can have transformative impact on the lives of the lone parents and their children and how they can make significant contributions into the society.
Infrastructure Development
When I am elected, I will be working towards Infrastructure Development in and around Longford. Currently Walking and Cycling track been constructed on the Battery Road and a significant amount of funds are being invested in that project. But there are other areas which need immediate attention as well. Our Roads need to be brought up to the international/EU Standards as during canvassing a large number of residents raised the issue of pot holes, blind spots, absence of speed calming measures in the critical areas, narrower roads at different places. Residents has also raised the issue of lack of play areas for the children, they have to travel to the Mall/Longford Leisure Centre all the time and often this is challenging for young families and for the parents of the children with special needs.
Drinking Water Issue
Another important local issue that impacts us all is the poor quality of drinking water in Longford over the past decades. Our children and elderly people are more vulnerable because of this poor-quality drinking water.
Not only does the water supplied to us contain excessive quantities of aluminum, fluoride, and chlorine regularly, which are harmful to human health, but it is also non-compliant with EU directives. Recently, in January 2024, the European Court of Justice ruled that Ireland failed to meet its obligations under the EU’s main law on drinking water.
Affordable & Social Housing
I am dedicated to improving housing in and around Longford. Here’s how we can make a difference together:
